It was a slaughter of the highest order in this week's match up of Guns & Roses vs. Sonic Youth in the Temporary Rough Venom Battle of the Classic Bands Tournament. Sonic Youth won their second battle with 20 votes compared to Guns & Roses with 5 votes. The consensus of music voters favored the dissonance and longevity of Sonic Youth and their decades of albums releases and influence. Perhaps if Guns & Roses didn't wait close to 20 years to release "Chinese Democracy" and kept the original lineup, this contest may have turned out differently. In the end, the daydream nation rose victorious and left Axl & Slash to continue searching for that paradise city.
The Winner: Sonic Youth
Next Wednesday's Battle: Pink Floyd vs. Rush
